Hi there! My name is Florence Zax, and I am an artist and designer based in the South of England. This site is a showcase of the personal and freelancing projects I am currently working on, but if you are looking for something in particular, do send your thoughts to zaxillustrations@gmail.com and I’ll see what I can do.

My favourite illustrations to produce are portraits, fashion, and architecture, however I love drawing different everyday items as the novelty of a familiar object drawn in such detail has the ability to bring out far more warmth from an audience than a stunning portrait of a model, for example! I often work short words or phrases into my illustrations, and strive to create a completely unique image each time which can provoke a positive reaction. My illustration work tends to be designed to be understood and appreciated easily, however as an artist I like to challenge an audience to think a little more about what they are looking at.

From a young age I have adored the Cubist movement, and my dream project would be something as abstracted from reality as Malevich was producing at the peak of his career. Nonetheless, his art manifesto is never too far from my desk as I would never accept a project that I wasn’t completely passionate about!

Other interests include interior design, fashion, music, and my glamorous assistant Tippi the boxer!
